Do you have experience in the design and test of electronic circuit boards? Do you have experience in the development of embedded firmware for custom circuit boards? If so, a company specialising in surveillance and special purpose software and systems, is looking for a highly skilled Senior Electronics Engineer.

The Role
As the successful Senior Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Design and test of electronic circuit boards - including block diagrams, component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, production file generation
  • Debugging prototype circuit boards, making use of a range of electronics test equipment
  • Integration of electronics into drone systems - working collaboratively with other members of the team across disciplines
  • Working with production team to ensure a smooth transition to high volume production
  • Development of embedded firmware for custom circuit boards
  • Definition of requirements and research/implementation of applicable
  • standards and required testing/certification
  • Communication with suppliers (e.g. PCB assembly companies, component manufacturers)


You
To be considered for the role of Senior Electronics Engineer, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or related qualification (or several years industry experience)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using Altium and LTSpice, or similar transferable experience
  • Experience designing multi-layer circuit boards is essential - including components such as microcontrollers, DC-DC converters, FPGAs, embedded processors, motor drivers etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of PCB layout principles and best practices for high-speed signal routing
  • Skills and experience debugging prototype PCBs, making use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers etc. to perform board bring-up and troubleshooting
  • Experience writing technical specifications and designing boards to a set of specifications
  • Ability to verify the compliance of a design solution against a set of specifications
  • Strong appreciation for EMC considerations in electronics development and the ability to debug EMC related issues
  • Embedded programming skills (C++)
  • Experience using version control systems such as git
  • FPGA development (VHDL / Verilog) experience is beneficial
  • Experience developing RF PCBs is beneficial
